aim4art is a voluntary community arts group, formed in 2009, dedicated to pushing our personal artistic boundaries. We aim to paint, aim to draw, aim to create art. We meet every Tuesday (10am-4pm) at The Barn, Hemlington, Middlesbrough, TS8 9DA. We have no regular tutor, but support each other and organise a programme of visits and workshops. |

Aim4art 2009-2024
This year aim4art celebrate our 15th anniversary. We started the year with a relaunch of our 'All About Art' exhibition (see below) at the Heritage Gallery, a venue of which we are particularly fond, and hope to continue with our regular Tuesday meetings, together with workshops and visits. Here's a sample of ongoing work from May 2024:

Newcastle Visit
Our visit to the Baltic and Biscuit Factory Galleries was a great success. The primary focus of the Baltic visit was the 2024 Open Submission Exhibition for North East artists, but we were also impressed by other exhibitions, including The Waiting Gardens of the North by renowned Iraqi-American artist Michael Rakowitz, and Stepping Softly on the Earth, an inspiring collection from international artists. The Biscuit Factory had it's usual varied mix of mainly local artists, and was, as always, worthwhile.

This wonderful drawing of the Redcar blast furnace featured in the Open Submissions 2024 Exhibition at the Baltic, which we visited in April. She is currently involved in a project, where she aims to produce at least one folding book a month. The pictures below show some of the incredible variety of ideas and techniques on display.

aim4art Albums
Visit our Gallery page to see albums of work, both by the group and by individual members. It includes work from our 2021 'Artists from The Barn' Exhibition at the Heritage Gallery and most of our earlier exhibitions. One of our more recent additions is Gill Place's lovely collection of work resulting from her sketch-a-day challenge, completed in 2021. These snowdrops are an example. |
